In an effort to make Hatta a tourist hotspot, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has implemented two projects, Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls and Duba Mountain peak.
The projects have been implemented in line with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The latest developments on the time frame for construction, designs and challenges were looked at with specialised international consultants assigned to ensure the project runs smoothly.
Over 200 jobs in the technical, administrative and operational field as well as 300 jobs in the visitor centre, for outdoor activities and tourist projects, will be assigned.
The Dubai Mountain Peak will consist of three stops with the first station built on the upper platform above the Hatta Dam, which is accessible through the transportation available at the car park.
The second station will have a viewing platform as well as a luxury hotel for guests to stay at.
The top station will offer a panoramic viewing platform, hiking trails, recreational facilities as well as suites from the main hotel.
The Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project started in May, with the concept model approved and completed.
Final designs, materials specifications and tender documents are currently in the process with construction expected to be completed by mid-November 2022.
The Hatta Sustainable Waterfall project will use a slope of the upper dam to create a natural waterfall with the water used collected at the end, recycled and used again.
