The Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee has announced that certain public places will only permit residents, citizens and tourists that have been vaccinated.
The change will take effect on 20 August, and only those that have been vaccinated and have a green status on the Al Hosn App can enter. The green status is applied if a negative PCR is taken, and the status is then available for 30 days.
Individuals with vaccination exemptions and who have a green status can enter. The green status will show up once a negative PCR test is taken and will last for 7 days.
Children aged 16 and under will also have a green status on the Al Hosn App and can enter without having to take a PCR test.
Individuals that have not been vaccinated as well as individuals with a grey status on the Al Hosn App will not be allowed to enter public places.
Individuals that have renewed their residency will receive a 60 day period to get vaccinated.
To ensure that the vaccine status is active, a booster shot needs to be taken after six months from receiving the second dose.
Individuals that have taken their second dose six months prior and have not received the booster dose will be given 30 days before the status goes grey on 20 September.
Individuals that are a part of vaccine trials are exempt from requiring a booster dose.
Shopping centres, restaurants, cafes, all retail outlets, gyms, recreational facilities and sporting activities, health clubs, resorts, museums, cultural centres, theme parks, universities, institutes, public and private schools and children’s nurseries are the public places which will only permit entry to vaccinated individuals.
