The Traffic and Patrols Directorate of the Abu Dhabi Police (ADP) has announced that 27,076 fines were issued for distracted driving violations during the first half of 2021.
According to statistics and analytical studies, distracted driving is one of the most dangerous offences, as it can lead to serious injuries.
The Abu Dhabi Police emphasised the need to stay focused while driving and keeping eyes on the road.
Drivers must not use their smartphones and limit talking to passengers in order to avoid traffic accidents.
A fine of Dhs 800 and four black points will be given for distracted driving.
