Unvaccinated Individuals At Risk With Virus Variants

WAM

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Management Authority has informed the public that individuals that are currently unvaccinated are more susceptible to the virus, especially due to the surge in the virus variants.

With a spike in the number of variants around the world, the variants show a different composition which can affect the way the virus is spread and the speed of spreading.

The Ministry of Health along with various medical organisations are constantly checking the efficacy of vaccinations in comparison to the variants to ensure the safety of individuals.

The national vaccination programme has a vaccination rate of 87.17% in the targeted groups.

According to studies, individuals that have received both doses of the vaccine along with the booster shot are more susceptible to fighting the virus and do not require hospitalisation in comparison to unvaccinated individuals.

Vaccinations and booster shots are now being administered to the public to ensure the safety of individuals in the UAE.
