The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has been conducting inspections at private medical and pharmaceutical facilities to ensure all the highest standards are followed.
The initiative will help enhance the competitiveness and performance of the healthcare sector as well as implement the set national standards.
The inspections include checking doctors and technicians hold a valid licence, monitoring the storage conditions of medicines and pharmaceuticals, ensuring compliance with medical and technical safety requirements for operating rooms and engineering standards, while ensuring the provision of easy access to community members, especially for people of determination, and respecting patient privacy will be monitored.
Additionally, the safety of vaccinations provided by medical facilities, the adherence to drug prices and not dispensing antibiotics without medical prescription, verifying the application conditions of infection control, sterilisation of medical tools, disposal of medical waste in accordance with local and international laws and standards, and not tampering with the records of dispensing controlled, semi-controlled drugs, and psychotropic substances will also be checked.
The inspection teams will prepare a report of the violations and will later check back to ensure all the measures are taken to correct them.
