Guidelines For Eid Are Announced

The National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority has announced new COVID-19 guidelines on the occasion of Eid-Al-Fitr which is due to take place new week.

Individuals are advised to avoid family gatherings and get-togethers, and to limit celebrations to within the family.

Face masks and social distancing must be maintained with elderly citizens, as well as individuals with chronic illnesses.

Eid greetings should be exchanged via digital methods rather than exchanging gifts and food with loved ones and neighbours.

Ediya, money given to children during Eid, should be given electronically rather than handing it out in cash.

No date is confirmed when Eid-Al-Fitr will be, and an official decision is expected to be announced on 11 May, by the moon sighting committee based on the sighting of the moon.
