The General Directorate of the Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) has launched the first electric firefighting vehicle in the Middle East.
The vehicle was introduced to the public for the first time at The Custom Show Emirates, which took place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from 8 to 10 April.
This is the second electric firefighting vehicle in the world and can handle all types of fires. It has a speed that is 20 per cent faster than regular firefighting vehicles, reaching destinations at a quicker pace and has the capacity to accommodate six firefighting personnel.
It is equipped with LED lights and also has a smart operating system that is connected to the Dubai Civil Defence's operation room which uses technology to send, receive and store information and to control remote objects in the vehicle.
The vehicle is environmentally friendly, does not produce harmful emissions and does not make a lot of noise.
