Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has completed 74% of the renovation works at the entry points to three existing metro stations.
The three metro stations that are being improved are the Dubai Internet City Station, the Dubai Marina Station and the UAE Exchange Station on the Red Line.
These stations were chosen for renovation was due to a number factors, including the number of travellers using the metro stations, the number of people of determination travelling, the population density of the surrounding area, the geographical distribution of the areas and the number of mobility journeys.
The improvements to the entry and exit points will help increase the traveller's experience and also aims to make travel easier for people of determination.
The updates will also feature cycling tracks, directional signs, pedestrian crossings, landscaping works and bus and taxi stands.
The Dubai Internet Cty Station will also additionally add a separate entrance that can be used in emergency situations.
Dubai Marina Station improvements will provide better connectivity between the metro station and the tram by modifying the streets around the entrance.
The UAE Exchange Station will also feature modified streets to provide easier access for pedestrians and cyclists.
The stations will be opened in the second and third quarter of the year and will open in phases.
