The DAMAC Cyclethon, in partnership with the Dubai Sports Council, will run for the first time on 20 March. The inaugural event will be held at largest DAMAC community, Akoya.
The cyclethon is open to all, and will feature a 60km race for adults and a 6.8km race for children aged 5 to 15 years.
There will be four different categories, men, women, Emirati men and Emirati women. The winners of each category will receive a Dhs 5,000 cash prize along with a gold voucher, medal and trophy.
Runners-up in the adult categories, as well as winners and runners up from the children's race will receive trophies and medals.
