The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has withdrawn certain pharmaceutical products due to non-compliance.
Samples of the suspected medicines were tested at the Quality Control Laboratory in Dubai, and as a result pharmacies have been instructed to return these products, and medical specialists and people who have been prescribed them have been advised to stop using any they possess.
The medicines that have been recalled are forte table, Julmentin 375mg tablet which is used for treating bacterial infections as well as lung, ear and sinus infections, Mucolyte syrup, which is prescribed for mucous secretions, Butalin 2 and 4 mg tablet for bronchospasm, asthma and pulmonary embolism, and Lipigard 10mg tablet which is prescribed for treating cholesterol, Scopinal syrup, which is used for colon disorders, Supraproct-S supp which is prescribed for haemorrhoids and rashes and Gupisone 20 mg tablet which is used for allergies.
The decision to voluntarily withdraw some products is a precautionary measure to ensure health and safety of patients.
