Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has opened a dedicated lane for buses and taxis.
The new lane on Khalid Bin Al Waleed Street is now in use following trials that have taken place over the month since the completion of the construction of the road.
The dedicated lane will help ease the travel times for buses and taxis, and will also encourage more people to use public transport services.
As the lane is dedicated to only buses and taxis, anyone else using this lane will face a Dhs 600 fine.
Directional signs, as well as the red colour of the road, have been implemented to ensure only buses and taxis use the designated lane.
