The UAE’s Emirates Airlines, Etihad and low cost airline flydubai have confirmed that they are rerouting some of their flights to avoid flying over Iranian waters and in Iranian airspace. This follows an emergency order issued by the US Federal Aviation Administration prohibiting United States based airlines from flying in Iranian airspace.
As well as the UAE airlines and the United States airlines, other airlines that have announced rerouting some of their flights to avoid flying over the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf of Oman include Australian airline Qantas, Germany’s Lufthansa and British Airways.
