Ramadan is almost upon us and at this time of year, we tend to find a way we can give back to society.
Getting involved with Ramadan Sharing Fridges DXB is a brilliant way to do this.
You can either choose to manage a fridge or donate things to a fridge, to participate in this community event during the Holy month.
The community event returns for 2019 and so far more than 130 fridges have already been registered with Ramadan Sharing Fridges, and the organisation has released a first ever map with the locations of all fridges to make it easier to locate a fridge nearby.
You can find fridges placed at a number of places located between Jebel Ali and Deira.
Ramadan Sharing Fridges 2019
Started in 2016, the community based event sees fridges placed all over the city and residents are encouraged to fill them to help those in need. All fridges open on the first day of Ramadan, which is likely to begin on Monday, 6 May this year, and run throughout the Holy month.
More fridges are expected to be added to the list, however the motive is to have full fridges over having more but empty fridges. If you want to become a fridge manager, you can write to Registration@ramadansharingfridges.org to register your fridge and location.
For those who would like to donate food items to the fridge, they need to bear in mind that no cooked items can be donated, it is advised to donate food items such as juices, milk, biscuits and laban.
Last but not least, art is a wonderful medium to communicate emotions, the organisation has tied up with a group called Fridge Art in DXB to paint community fridges with a Ramadan centric theme.
