McDonald’s UAE has adopted to a very creative way to promote reading habits among its young customers.
Who does not love a Happy Meal? And from this month onwards, it comes with an option to pick up a free children’s book written by award-winning author Cressida Cowell.
Happy Meal Reader Program is a collaboration between the popular British author, widely known for her ‘How to Train Your Dragon’ series, and McDonald’s UAE to create 12 exclusive hardback books in order to nurture reading habits among children. The new programme offers a children’s book with each Happy Meal bought.
McDonalds will issue two news book every eight weeks to encourage its little customers to continue developing their passion for reading.
The books will also be available on the Happy Meal App allowing parents to access the books on digital platforms as well.

The books have been written with the children in mind, and will hopefully inspire some fun family storytelling moments. This unique collaboration between McDonald’s, Cowell and Hachette Children’s Group, one of the largest children’s publishers in the UK, will give parents and children the choice of books by Cowell with every Happy Meal throughout 2019. We believe this collaboration has the ability to excite children and families in the UAE to make reading fun and create priceless family moments of togetherness.”
