UAE Ranks Among The Top ‘Positive Countries’

The UAE has ranked 8th on the Positivity Index of Nations that measures a country's positive impact on the world, as well as their positive attitude towards building a capable future generation, equipped to face new generation challenges. An annual global report has been published by the Positive Economy Institute since 2013.

This year, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) included the UAE in the index as a non-OECD country and it has outranked 27 out of the 34 OECD member countries, including the United Kingdom, the United States, France and Australia. Iceland topped the list followed by other Scandinavian countries such as Sweden, Norway and Denmark in the top spots.

The Positivity Index measures the ability of countries to contribute in three main dimensions, which are measured using 30 indicators.

The first dimension, is ‘Educate and Finance Future Generations’, the second dimension is ‘Preparing Adequate Infrastructure for Future Generations’ and the third dimension is 'Building a Consensus for Future Generations’ which includes positive governance, inclusion and participation.

UAE becomes the first and the only Arab country to become a part of this international index, indicating the country’s efforts towards education, gender balance, social empowerment global climate and sustainable energy solutions.
