A 10-hectare nature reserve is taking shape in Expo City Dubai, promising to redefine sustainable urban living when it opens in the first half of 2026.

The Expo Valley nature reserve will feature around 1,200 trees, including native and adaptive species like acacia and ghaf, cultivated on-site to suit the UAE’s environment. Designed as a gated community nestled in nature, it aims to provide a lasting green legacy rooted in the sustainability principles of Expo City Dubai.

The nature reserve will offer a biodiverse, restorative environment, complete with lake, valley and a variety of landscaping, and will also support a wide range of flora and fauna.

The project is being led by Proscape, a UAE-based landscape and infrastructure specialist. Their work includes precision grading, lake construction, advanced irrigation, and robust landscaping infrastructure, all intended to create a biodiverse, people-friendly environment.

Ahmed Al Khatib, Chief Development and Delivery Officer at Expo City Dubai, said, "We are confident that the reserve will be a flourishing, resilient landscape that can be enjoyed for generations to come as part of a people-centric city that thrives in harmony with nature".

As part of a broader master plan, the reserve is expected to become a model for sustainable, nature-integrated communities, offering a greener alternative to traditional urban life, right in the heart of Dubai.
