The Biggest Catch competition is held every year at The Waterfront Market in Diera, Dubai’s unique destination for quality fresh sea produce, to celebrate the city’s fishing culture and heritage.
This year, Khalid Abdulla Lootah was crowned ‘King Of The Catch’ for 2019 for bringing home a whopping 30kg fish which measured 2 metres long.
The announcement of the winner was made at a special event held at The Waterfront Market, which apart from the star fish event, also had a host of activities for children and families, including feed the fish, mosaic making workshops, balloon twisting, a street magician and a photo zone.
Last year, Jassim Mohammad Ali Abdullah Al Marzouqi won the prize for catching a King Fish weighing 28 kilograms.
This year, the competition clearly outdone itself by catching an even bigger fish.
The Waterfront Market is located at the intersection of Al Khaleej Road and Abu Hail Streets in Deira, and also houses the fruit and vegetables, meat and dry goods markets.
