Following her comments about the new labour law, Sondos AlQattan is now facing more backlash. Several beauty brands have suspended their collaborations with the blogger, issuing statements on their social media platforms.
The brands include:
MaxFactor
MAC Cosmetics
MAC’s statement reads, "we currently do not have any partnerships with her and will no longer be working with her on any brand activities,”. The brand reiterated that AlQattan’s "views are her own" and said "we wish to make it clear we do not support the beliefs recently expressed by her". MAC will make sure that they “align ourselves with partners that share our core values and in no way tolerate excluding anyone.”
Shiseido
A spokesperson from the company has said that, “Shiseido does not support or align with the recent statements made by Sondos Alqattan.”
Phyto and Etude House responded to a Twitter user
Chelsea Beautique has also severed ties with AlQattan.
AlQattan issued her own statement regarding the controversy in which she states that, "The fact about having the passport of an employee in the possession of the employer does not in anyway give an indication about a human being."
