Dubai Municipality has completed 34,700 inspections of food establishments in the first half of 2025, reinforcing its commitment to keeping meals across the city safe and high in quality. The checks covered restaurants, cafés, and food suppliers to ensure they comply with strict health regulations.
Dubai Municipality is increasingly using smart tools and digital systems to track food safety from import to table, ensuring Dubai remains a city where residents and visitors can enjoy their meals with confidence. Such meticulous commitment to food inspection is a testament to the city's priorities in public health and safety.
Commenting on the achievements, Dr. Sultan Al Taher, Director of the Food Safety Department at Dubai Municipality, said, "Safeguarding food safety is a cornerstone of enhancing quality of life in the emirate. We remain committed to enforcing the highest food safety standards and establishing a benchmark model that reinforces Dubai’s regional and global leadership in food safety oversight".
During the first half of this year, Dubai also welcomed 2,336 new food establishments, while more than 173,000 food shipments were cleared at its ports. Around 940,000 individual food items passed rigorous safety checks, and 77,700 new products were officially registered.
