The Gitex Shopper Spring edition, which was scheduled to take place this week from 3-7 April, has been merged into the Autumn edition, to run from 2-6 October, the organiser of the event, Dubai World Trade Centre, announced on Thursday. The Autumn edition is goes down from eight days and will run over five days this year.
The integration of both editions aims to create a mega electronic showcase which would drive high consumer demand and will have amplified impact over the retail industry.
Gitex Shopper partners are supportive of the move as they are now in a position to deliver even better promotions and therefore, increasing in-store retail sales. The merger is reflective of progressive collaboration and consensus with Dubai's leading consumer electronics retailers and the Department of Economic Development (DED), the announcement added.
