Abu Dhabi Mobility has announced new speed limits for two major roads in the emirate, effective Monday, 14 April, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety and reduce traffic accidents.

The speed limit on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed International Road or E11 will be reduced from 160kph to 140kph. This highway is one of the emirate’s main transport corridors, and the new speed limit is expected to help reduce high-speed accidents.

Similarly, the speed limit on Abu Dhabi Sweihan Road or E20 will drop from 120kph to 100kph, covering a stretch frequently used by commuters and logistics transport.

Abu Dhabi Police are urging all road users to follow the revised speed limits and drive with caution. These changes form part of broader efforts to improve traffic safety across the emirate, especially in high-risk zones known for speeding-related incidents. In Abu Dhabi, the fine for speeding above the limit by up to 20kph is Dhs 600.

Motorists are advised to monitor road signs and traffic updates and adapt their driving habits accordingly to ensure the safety of all road users.
