The annual Global Liveability Ranking has ranked Dubai #74 in the list of the most liveable cities in the world and has ranked the city #2 in the list of the most improved liveability globally.
While Dubai stands just in the middle of the list ranked at 74th place out of 140 ranked cities, it tops in the list of most liveable cities in the Middle East and North Africa, with Abu Dhabi coming in as the second most liveable city across the MENA region.
The most liveable city overall is Melbourne, Australia and the most improved city in the Economist Intelligence Unit’s report is Tehran in Iran.
The cities are ranked on the scale of 1 to 100; 1 for being intolerable and 100 for being ideal. Dubai managed to score 74.7, whereas the most liveable city, Melbourne, scored 97.5.
The world’s least liveable ranked city was Damascus in Syria with a score of 30.2.
The ranking is given based on effective infrastructure, a widespread availability of goods and services and low personal risk. Other than these, other consideration factors are stability; healthcare; culture and environment; education; and infrastructure.
