The spring breaks are starting this weekend and a lot of UAE residents are set to take vacations over this period. Emirates Airline expect this weekend to be one of the busiest periods of the year, and are advising it’s customers in advance to ensure they pass through this busy period without any issues. The busy period is expected to continue up to Sunday 25 March.
If you are travelling this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, make note of the following advice before you book your taxi to the airport and make sure your journey starts smoothly:
- Customers are reminded to arrive at the airport at least three hours before their flight departs. Emirates urges customer to build in extra time to their journey to avoid potential delays which may follow because of road works and infrastructure enhancements happening around the main airport highways and roads during this time.
- Travellers can physically check in at the airport as early as six hours before departing on their flight, and are requested to check in no later than 2 hours prior to departure, regardless of class of travel.
- Travellers who check in less than 60 minutes prior to their scheduled flight departure will not be accepted for travel.
- Travellers can check-in online from 48 hours to 90 minutes before flight departure.
- Travellers can choose to drop their luggage at one of the 46 dedicated bag drop counters
- Travellers can use online check-in services at the car park located in Zone C. Airline advises it’s customers to adhere to carry-on baggage weight limits to save time of both the parties.
- Families travelling with small children can use dedicated family counters in Check-in Zone 2.
- If passengers report late Emirates will not be able to accept them for travel. Check-in and gate closure timings will be strictly followed to ensure flights depart on schedule. These time checks will ensure minimal flight delays out of Dubai.
