In its fourth year, the public art festival features artists from all around the world creating street art master pieces. But not only is the festival hosting global talent, it has also given a platform for young gifted Emirati artists to showcase their work on the local art scene. These skilled and rising stars are working with and alongside some of the world’s best and their talent is right on par.
The Emirati artists that are being showcased this year include Fatma Al Ali, Sara Yaqoub Al Khoori, Asma Al Khoori, Mahra Hamdan Al Falahi and Myneandyours. The group range from ages 20, studying at universities across the UAE, and come from diverse backgrounds. There are also eight students from Zayed University creating 3D art pieces of UAE landmarks, and another group that have the opportunity to shadow some of the global artists at Dubai Canvas.
Ayesha bin Kalli, Project Manager of Dubai Canvas said “Dubai Canvas provides a truly special opportunity for these aspiring artists to present their talent to the public. Participating in the event alongside some of the world’s most accomplished street artists will expose them to unique creative approaches and innovative artistic techniques, which will support their growth and evolution as artists”
