Dubai motorists will be able to use most public parking spaces free of charge on Monday, 15 June, as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) implements a revised transport schedule for the Hijri New Year 1448 holiday. The authority has also announced adjusted operating hours for public transport services and customer service centres across the emirate.
According to the RTA, all public parking areas in Dubai will be free on the public holiday, with the exception of multi-storey parking facilities, where regular charges will continue to apply. Standard parking tariffs will resume on Tuesday, 16 June.
Dubai Metro services on both the Red and Green Lines will operate from 5am until midnight on 15 June, while Dubai Tram services will run from 6am until 1am on 16 June. Public bus schedules will also be adjusted for the holiday period, with passengers advised to check the S’hail application for the latest route and timing information.
The RTA confirmed that all Customer Happiness Centres will remain closed during the holiday. However, the Customer Happiness Centre in Umm Ramool and Smart Kiosks located in Deira, Al Barsha, Al Tawar, Al Kifaf and the RTA Headquarters will continue operating around the clock.
Vehicle testing and service provider centres will also be closed on 15 June and are scheduled to reopen on 16 June as per normal operating hours.
For intercity travellers, the RTA announced that Bus Route E100, which normally operates between Al Ghubaiba Bus Station and Abu Dhabi, will be suspended from 13 to 15 June. Commuters travelling to Abu Dhabi during this period are advised to use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station instead.
Marine transport services will continue operating, with updated schedules available through official RTA channels.
The annual Hijri New Year holiday marks the beginning of the Islamic New Year and typically brings temporary adjustments to public services across the UAE.
