The Ministry of Family and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have launched a new initiative to strengthen family stability and enhance the quality of life.
The 'Family First' programme includes benefits for senior citizens, People of Determination, and students. The initiatives include:
- No parking fees for senior Emiratis
- Discounted transport fares for senior Emiratis and students
- People of Determination will be exempt from Salik tolls, parking charges, public transport fares, and vehicle registration and renewal fees, and will also receive a 50 per cent reduction in taxi fares and driver licensing fees.
His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of Dubai’s RTA, said: “The collaboration will contribute to the development of new planning standards that incorporate family growth concepts into the design of transport stations, public facilities, and urban development areas, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global model for human-centred urban planning.”
The initiative is designed to make everyday mobility more accessible and affordable for key groups in the community, while reinforcing broader efforts to improve quality of life across Dubai.
