Dubai Airports has announced a major new phase in its accessibility strategy: a 10-year plan that aims to make Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) the world’s most inclusive airports by 2035.
The renewed commitment was launched alongside 'DXB for All', an awareness campaign created in collaboration with People of Determination. The campaign features six real-life stories that highlight the unique experiences of travellers of determination, from navigating sensory sensitivities to interacting with staff using sign language and tactile guidance.
Featured advocates include Emirati accessibility pioneer Fatma Al Jassim, consultant and former Paralympic swimmer Jessica Smith, and mother Yasmin Carey with her son Ellis who lives with Autism, among other inspiring representatives of the community.
The initiative builds on Dubai Airports' 2022 campaign 'We All Meet the World Differently', reinforcing Dubai’s vision of being a disability-friendly city.
The inclusivity drive is backed by partners including Emirates, flydubai, Dubai Police, Dubai Taxi Company and others. Current services for People of Determination in the airports include sensory-friendly lounges, sunflower lanyards for discreet assistance, priority lanes, dedicated taxis, and visual travel guides, all part of a holistic approach to accessible travel.
