RTA's New WhatsApp Chatbot Lets Public Report Damages Instantly

Reporting infrastructure damage in Dubai just got simpler. Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched a new WhatsApp chatbot called 'Mahboub' to enhance its community engagement platform Madinati. The chatbot allows users to capture a photo and instantly share details of damaged public facilities. The chatbot can be accessed through RTA's website

From broken pavements and faulty traffic signals to damaged bus shelters and directional signs, the service ensures reports are directed to the right department for immediate action. This not only cuts response times but also makes it easier for people to play an active role in keeping the city safe, functional and visually appealing.

The initiative is part of RTA’s 2024-2030 strategy, aimed at strengthening Dubai’s position as a smart, sustainable city built on advanced digital infrastructure. In just the first half of 2025, more than 6,500 reports were received by the RTA's call centre, highlighting strong community engagement. 'Mahboub' is expected to make this process much smoother and the responses more prompt.

Alongside reporting damages, users can also submit suggestions to improve infrastructure, reinforcing the partnership between residents, visitors and the RTA in shaping Dubai’s urban environment.
