Hatta’s growing reputation as a hub for eco-tourism and community development is set to expand further with 14 new business opportunities at the Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls project.

The initiative, launched under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, offers Emiratis in Hatta the chance to open restaurants, retail stores and kiosks free of charge for one year.

The move is designed to empower local citizens by providing a springboard for small businesses and families, while supporting Dubai’s long-term development strategies. Applications are open for Emirati residents of Hatta via Dubai Municipality's website, with eligibility criteria set by the evaluation committee.

Spanning 750 square metres, the retail spaces will feature Emirati, Arabic and international cuisines, cafes, souvenir shops and equipment rentals, all aimed at enriching the visitor experience while boosting tourism in the area.

Dubai Municipality officials highlighted that this marks the first time investment opportunities have been introduced in the Hatta Dam area. The initiative is expected to strengthen the local economy, generate unique job opportunities and inspire a new generation of entrepreneurs.

Already a major attraction, Hatta Sustainable Waterfalls features cascading waters, scenic trails, and the world’s largest natural marble mosaic mural which depicts the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
