Dubai has reinforced its position as one of the world’s leading travel destinations, welcoming 8.68 million international visitors in the first five months of 2025, a 7% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The latest data was released by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism.

Top source markets, or regions from where visitors to Dubai originate, include Western Europe with around 1.92 million visitors, Russia and Eastern Europe countries contributing 1.4 million visitors and South Asia and the GCC region, each contributing over 1.2 million visitors.

The latest data also reveals that 1.53 million tourists arrived in May alone, as the city’s diverse offerings continue to draw travellers from across the globe.

Dubai’s hospitality sector also recorded strong growth during this period with average occupancy in hotel rooms rising significantly. The continued uptick in both visitor arrivals and hospitality metrics signals Dubai’s enduring appeal and its strategic success in maintaining momentum across key global markets. With key events like Dubai Summer Surprises ahead, the city looks poised to welcome even more tourists.
