Abu Dhabi has just added a one-of-a-kind art experience to its growing list of cultural attractions. On Saadiyat Island, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi officially opened its doors with a special inauguration ceremony. The ceremony was attended by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.

To mark the opening, world-renowned pianist Ludovico Einaudi performed live while a dazzling show of 6,000 drones and pyrotechnics lit up the sky over Saadiyat Cultural District.

About teamLab

The massive, 17,000 square metre venue, developed by the Department of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi in collaboration with world-famous Japanese art collective teamLab, invites visitors to step into a dynamic world where art meets science and technology.

Unlike traditional museums, the artworks here don’t sit still. They evolve in real time, responding to guests' movements and natural changes around them. Some installations take place in dry artwork area where your presence changes the visuals, while others are in wet artwork area, where interaction becomes even more immersive and physical by inviting guests to walk into a realm filled with fluid.

If you’re wondering what kind of experience this is, it’s one where you don’t just view art, you become part of it.

This new landmark joins other major cultural institutions in the area, including Louvre Abu Dhabi, the upcoming Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, and the Zayed National Museum, turning the district into a global hub for arts and education.

The teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi is now open to the public on Saadiyat Island. General admission tickets are priced at Dhs 150 per adult. For more details and information, check their official website.
