The UAE has officially announced that Saturday, 1 March, will be the first day of Ramadan this year. The announcement was made by the Presidential Court after confirmation from the UAE's moon-sighting committee

For the first time, the country used AI-powered drones to assist in moon sighting, a significant advancement aimed at improving the accuracy and efficiency of determining the start of the Islamic Holy Month.

Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection, fasting, and community gatherings. Residents can expect adjusted work hours, school schedules and special Ramadan events throughout the UAE.
