Booking a taxi in Dubai is even easier now, with the new option to book taxis via WhatsApp. This convenient feature simplifies the process of arranging a ride in the city. You can now book Hala Taxis directly through WhatsApp, a feature that is easily accessible via the Careem app.
Here's How You Can Book Your Ride
- First and foremost you need to save the number 800-HALA TAXI (4252 8294).
- After saving the number, send a ‘Hi’ to the number and follow the prompts to book a ride. For any assistance during the booking process, typing ‘Help’ will provide the necessary guidance.
- You’ll receive a booking confirmation, along with details about your driver and their estimated arrival time. A live tracking link will be sent to you, which you can share with your contacts to show your exact location.
- Currently, the WhatsApp service is limited to booking standard four-seater sedans. For those needing larger vehicles, the Careem app remains the go-to option.
- Bookings through WhatsApp are free of additional fees, and fares are calculated the same way as they are on the Careem app. Payment can be made in cash, by credit or debit card, or via Apple Pay at the end of the trip.
Are Cancellations An Option?
Cancellations can be made within five minutes of booking without penalty. However, if the cancellation occurs after this grace period and the driver is en route, a fee of Dhs 12 will apply. Receipts for trips will be provided in the chat once the ride is complete.
Currently, you cannot apply Hala credits or promotional discounts via WhatsApp, nor can you schedule rides. For these features, the Careem app is recommended.
