UAE Weather: Fog Alert Issued With Possible Light Rainfall At Night

UAE residents will experience foggy conditions this morning, Friday, 15 March; the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has issued red and yellow alerts for parts of the country due to thick fog, leading to reduced visibility on the roads. Abu Dhabi Police advises motorists to be cautious and adhere to changing speed limits displayed on electronic boards. Fog has been reported in areas including Sharjah International Airport, Ras Al Khaimah Airport, and Arjan in Abu Dhabi.

Today, the weather will be fair to partly cloudy, with cloudy at times over islands and some coastal areas with a chance of light rainfall by night. Winds will be light to moderate, occasionally freshening during the day, possibly causing blowing dust. The sea conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

Temperatures are expected to range from 11ºC in mountainous regions to 34ºC in internal areas. The lowest temperature recorded in the morning was 14.4ºC in Raknah, Al Ain, at 6.30am. 

Weather Forecast For The Weekend

On Saturday, 16 March, residents can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies over islands, coastal, and northern areas, with a chance of rainfall. It will be humid at night and Sunday morning in some coastal and internal regions. Winds will be light to moderate, mostly from the southeast to northeast, occasionally becoming stronger during the day, causing blowing dust. Speeds will range from 10kmh to 20kmh, reaching up to 35kmh. 

The sea will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

Sunday, 17 March, weather will generally be fair to partly cloudy with gradually increasing temperatures. It will be humid at night and Monday morning, possibly leading to fog or mist formation in some coastal and internal areas. 

Winds will be light to moderate, initially from the southeast, then shifting to northeast and northwesterly directions at times. Speeds will range from 10kmh to 20kmh, reaching up to 35kmh. The sea will be slight to moderate, occasionally in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
