GEMS Al Barsha National School (GNS) students are all set to partake at Expo 2025 in Japan and will showcase sustainability projects at the event. The school has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yuwa Junior High School, Arida City, in Japan, marking a significant milestone in promoting sustainability through educational exchange and fostering cultural understanding.

The collaboration will begin in full force from September 2024, when grade 6 to 8 students from both schools start to work on a series of shared sustainability projects. And in December 2024, Yuwa Junior High School students will visit GNS and immerse themselves in Dubai’s cultural and academic landscape. Finally, in April 2025, GNS students will participate  in Osaka Expo 2025 and showcase their sustainability projects.

Commenting on this collaboration, Karim Murcia, Principal/CEO, GEMS Al Barsha National School, said: “This MoU will positively impact the GNS community, fostering international collaboration and enriching our students’ educational experience. We are excited about the upcoming journey as our students gear up to showcase their sustainability projects at Expo 2025 in Japan.
