In a landmark announcement for UAE sports, Dubai Basketball Club has been officially selected to join EuroLeague, Europe’s premier basketball competition, following the league’s expansion to 20 teams.
The news was confirmed by His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the UAE Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, who hailed the selection as another step in Dubai’s rise as a global sporting destination.
Established just two years ago in 2023, Dubai Basketball Club has already made waves, thanks in part to a strong inaugural season in the Adriatic Basketball Association League, where it finished third overall while facing top-tier opponents.
His Highness Sheikh Mansoor said the club’s selection for EuroLeague proves Dubai can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with global giants and will inspire a new generation of athletes across the UAE.
Home games will be played at Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai from September to June, with fans getting a chance to see elite teams like Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, Olympiacos and Fenerbahçe in action.
This historic entry makes Dubai Basketball Club the first team from the region to join EuroLeague and positions the UAE firmly on the global basketball map.
