Mahzooz And Emirates Draw Suspend Operations In The UAE

Two of the UAE's leading gaming and raffle draw operators, Mahzooz and Emirates Draw, have decided to temporarily suspend their activities from 1 January 2024. While the companies did not specify when the games would resume, they assured customers that this pause is by directives from the UAE Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA), established in September. Mahzooz stated that this is part of an 'industry-wide mandate' aligning with regulatory efforts to create a well-regulated gaming environment in the UAE.

Emirates Draw quoted these sentiments, expressing their satisfaction with the introduction of the GCGRA. Paul Chader, the Head of Commercial at Emirates Draw, emphasised their commitment to establishing a well-regulated gaming environment in the UAE. He announced the temporary pause in activities, assuring customers that the company would prioritise the protection of all outstanding prize awards. The pause is expected to enhance the gaming experience for players, with Emirates Draw aiming to return with an improved offering soon.

According to the Emirates Draw website, customers can withdraw any account balance, regardless of the amount, and participation and new account registration are temporarily suspended for players within the UAE.

Mahzooz expressed its anticipation of resuming draws, likely in the first quarter of 2024, pending approval from regulators. They thanked customers for their understanding during the short break. Emirates Draw promised to provide detailed information through official channels at the appropriate time.
