F.A.M.E., the annual talent show for people of determination, is coming back in June.
Held for one day only on 25 June at Dubai World Trade Centre, this year's edition will focus on fashion, and will see some of the biggest names in the industry styling the participants.
Three local designers will showcase their collection including Tasneem Fatima Nawab, the Dubai based designer and founder of Zaish which creates sustainable denim shirts and jackets, The Queen C Boutique, known for adding a modern touch to traditional Arabic clothing, and Soham Bahadur, with the VirLauTus collection that combines fashion and sustainability.
The international lineup of designers joining the event are Rina Dhaka, the Indian designer that specialises in adding modern elements to traditional Indian outfits, Ekta Solanki, one of the UK’s leading bridal and evening wear designers, and Ziggi Menswear, a UK based grooms wear brand that specialises in sherwanis and suits.
Participants will wear the designer's outfits and walk down the catwalk. Adding to the event are multiple acts from drumming, dancing, and singing and a performance by Step-Up Academy’s Dance Syndrome.
F.A.M.E. was launched by Rosy Ahmed seven years ago, when she was looking for a platform for her daughter, who has Down syndrome, and people of determination to showcase their talents.
Rosy Ahmed said, "We’re very excited to bring this year’s audience a fresh perspective focused on fashion and creativity. Inclusion is at the heart of everything we do, so we decided to develop a fully-inclusive catwalk event. We are extremely grateful to all of the wonderful designers who have joined us to raise awareness and celebrate diversity. And we hope this will be a catalyst for more inclusive community events aimed at mainstream audiences in the future."
The event is free to attend, with prior booking required via the Eventbrite website.
