The Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) is set to launch remote healthcare services in the UAE.

Called 'Smart Digital Health', the initiative will ensure all medical facilities provide at least one remote service to better accommodate to the needs of the public, which includes prescribing medication, conducting medical consultations, monitoring vital signs or using robots for surgical operations.

With the pandemic, the need for remote services increased, and the initiative is a move towards incorporating remote healthcare services to all.

The initiative will see at least one service being made available by medical facilities by the end of the year.
