Dubai-based endurance athlete Ghani Souleymane is set to begin one of the most ambitious fitness feats ever attempted in the UAE, covering 100 consecutive 100km triathlons in 100 days, starting today at Kite Beach.
The challenge, an official Guinness World Record attempt and a bid to raise funds for children affected by conflict, will see Souleymane complete a daily 2km swim, 80km bike ride, and 18km run, totalling a staggering 10,000km by the end of the journey. Souleymane's final triathlon will end with his hundredth day at the start line of the Dubai T100 Triathlon on Sunday, 16 November.
Souleymane, known for his extreme endurance efforts, says, "This challenge is about more than sport. It’s about showing what’s possible when you give everything and using that effort to help children who’ve lost so much".
The Dubai T100 Triathlon, part of the global T100 Triathlon World Tour and backed by the Professional Triathletes Organisation, runs from 13 to 16 November. The event will include elite competitions with mass participation, making it a key highlight of the Dubai Fitness Challenge. Activities will include corporate relays, sprint triathlons, an elite pro race, a full-distance amateur triathlon and much more. For more details about Dubai T100, see Connector's story HERE.
