The UAE Space Agency, through its National Space Academy, has launched the Space Mission and Satellite Engineering Programme (SMSE) in partnership with UAE-based company EDGE, aiming to prepare the country’s next wave of satellite engineers, system architects, and mission leaders.
Running from 16 September to 20 November this year, the ten-week programme combines technical theory with hands-on training at the UAE Space Agency headquarters and other facilities. Participants will tackle five specialised modules covering mission design, systems engineering, verification, operations and a full-scale simulated satellite project.
Open exclusively to UAE nationals, SMSE targets professionals in the space sector, and academic researchers and graduates in science, technology, engineering and mathematics disciplines, equipping them with advanced skills to design, manage, and operate space missions. Industry experts from the UAE and abroad will lead the sessions, ensuring alignment with global best practices.
