Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) along with talabat have launched a new revolutionary way of delivering food through robots.
The trial of the delivery robots, called 'talabots', will see food delivered in Dubai Silicon Oasis.
The service will be used to serve residents at Cedre Villas, within a 3km radius from the Cedre shopping centre, in order for delivery to be done within 15 minutes.
Customers will be able to track the movement and meet the robot at the doorstep.
By following the instructions on the talabat app, when teh food arrives, customers can collect their food from a secure the compartment on each robot.
To avoid any issues and obstacles with deliveries, the robots are equipped with built-in sensors and algorithms to identify barriers in the path.
To maintain the privacy of the individual, facial recognition will not be used and faces blurred.
The initiative aims to incorporate advanced technology as well as encourage zero emissions through various modes of delivery.
