UAE residents can now make rent payments through direct debit.
The payments can be done through the Direct Debit System (DDS) by the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).
On agreeing with the landlord on the mode of payment during the contract creation or renewal, the system can then be used to pay on the agreed upon dates.
To use the service, the tenant is required to sign in using their UAE Pass and will have their bank account linked.
Previously, payments were made through post dated cheques.
