Dubai International (DXB) has launched a new programme to support people of determination and provide a seamless travel experience for all.
To create a disability-friendly and barrier-free community to welcome passengers of determination, two phases of the programme will be rolled out over two years.
The programme aims to make travel for passengers with autism, chronic fatigue and PTSD easier.
A planner to prepare before travel and an autism-friendly route, with priority check-in, passport control, security checkpoints and boarding, will be available to passengers wearing a sunflower lanyard.
Trained staff with sunflower pins will assist in making the journey a more comfortable one.
Training material will be provided across airport staff to raise awareness and the second phase of the programme will see new additions added including quiet rooms, an airport safari tour and connected airports.
