Dubai Fitness Challenge Witnesses Amazing Turnout

The 6th edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge saw a successful month-long, activity-packed calendar.

Dedicated to encouraging daily activity as well as making Dubai a healthier and happier city, the challenge saw a great turnout of 2,212,246 participants throughout the 30 days.

Held from 29 October to 27 November, various free activities and events were held around Dubai, from fitness villages to free classes. 

The two Fitness Villages and 19 Fitness Hubs in Dubai saw over 263,000 people participating, with more than 13,000 free fitness classes available.

Since its launch, the Dubai Fitness Challenge has seen a steady increase in interest and engagement, with registered participants rising to 180% from 786,000 in 2017 to 2.2 million in 2022.

Participants in Dubai Run increased by 70,000 runners in 2019 to 193,000 in 2022, by 176%.

Additionally, the number of cyclists participating in Dubai Ride increased by 75% from 20,000 in 2020 to 34,897 in 2022.

The 7th edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge will be held from 28 October and 26 November 2023.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed said, "The participants have set an example for committing to improve their health and wellbeing and contributed to transforming the fitness mindset of the entire community. I want to thank each and every individual, government agency, business and organisation who contributed to or took part in this initiative. Together, we are well on the way to becoming the fittest city in the world. While the challenge is over for another year, I encourage all of you to stay active and continue your fitness journey by embracing everything our great city has to offer."
