Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to construct three all-inclusive truck rest stops.
Two will be constructed by Almutakamela Vehicle Testing and Registration, with one rest stop by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC).
The rest stops will have a total capacity to accommodate around 500 trucks and heavy vehicles.
Additionally, to enhance the safety and well-being of drivers, a variety of services will be available, including residential quarters for drivers, maintenance workshops, restaurants, administrative buildings, prayer rooms, driver training centres, clinics, pharmacies, exchange shops, laundry and other support services for drivers.
The three rest stops will be located at Jebel Ali Free Zone, Al Maktoum International Airport and Dubai Industrial City.
With the addition of the rest stops, parking issues for trucks on the main and residential roads will be reduced.
