The final weekend of the Emirates Airlines Literature Festival 2021 will come to a conclusion at Alserkal Avenue on 12 and 13 February. With various workshops and sessions with authors, book lovers will enjoy this event.
The literature festival will include 'The LAAF Way' session by Ranganath Subramoney. During the pandemic, we have all struggled emotionally and mentally and the session will focus on cultivating various wellness practices, through laughter and meditation.
Hafsa Lodi, a fashion journalist in the Middle East, and Houriya Altaheri, an Emirati sportsperson, FIFA coach and instructor, businesswoman and the Head Coach for the UAE Women’s National Football Team, will host a session where they will talk about fashion, football and feminism as well as the challenges women face to rise up.
In a workshop with poet Heather Grace titled 'Writing to Self-Discovery', the workshop will cover how to express one's feelings through the power of poetry.
Lemn Sissay, the award-winning writer and poet will talk about his autobiography 'My Name is Why' about the struggles he faced and will also reflect on the response received from his powerful book.
Julia Johnson will also launch her latest children’s book 'Where is Everyone?'.
'Literature Live Around the World' will showcase 12 literary festivals from around the world. It will be live-streamed at Alserkal Avenue on Friday at 3pm with the Dubai feature live at 7pm. The show has been produced by Norway’s Bergen International Literary Festival.
