MoHRE Cracks Down On Unlicensed Domestic Recruitment Services

WAM

The UAE has taken firm action against illegal domestic worker recruitment online, with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announcing the closure of 77 social media accounts in the first half of this year.

These social media accounts were posing as recruitment services but had no legal authorisation to carry out such activities. As a result, the accounts were shut down to protect families and uphold employment regulations.

MoHRE has issued a clear warning to all families not to engage with any unlicensed individuals or platforms offering domestic worker services, especially through social media. MoHRE also clarified that using unofficial channels can result in no legal recourse if something goes wrong in the recruitment or employment process. Families are therefore strongly urged to verify that they are dealing with registered agencies approved by the Ministry.
