Residents travelling between Dubai and other emirates can now stay connected on the go, thanks to a new initiative by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). In partnership with telecom provider e&, RTA has completed the rollout of free Wi-Fi across its entire fleet of 259 intercity buses.
Whether commuting to Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, or Fujairah, passengers can now use smartphones, tablets, or laptops to access the internet throughout their journey, at no extra cost. The service aims to improve the daily commuting experience, helping residents manage work, stay in touch with family, or simply browse the web during travel.
By offering onboard connectivity, the RTA not only improves convenience but also helps turn travel time into productive time, something many working professionals and students will value.
The RTA said the service will undergo regular performance checks and upgrades, in collaboration with e&, to ensure high-quality and reliable Wi-Fi access. There are also plans to extend similar digital services to other public transport modes, including marine transport.
