Hatta's position as a tourist attraction is going to be enhanced further.
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) are launching two initiatives named the 'Dubai Summit' and the 'Hatta Sustainable Waterfall'.
The initiatives were launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The 'Dubai Summit' project will see the creation of a 5.4-kilometre cable car, which will help transport visitors from the Hatta Dam area to the top of Um Al-Nesoor summit.
The project will include three main stops. The first will link the car park, the second will be a viewing deck and the third stop will have a hotel, a viewing platform, and facilities for tourists. There will also be hiking trails and recreational facilities in the area.
The 'Hatta Sustainable Waterfall' will see the creation of a natural waterfall with restaurants and cafes will built around it offering some stunning views.
His Excellency Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, said, “We work according to the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development throughout the Emirate of Dubai. These projects are part of DEWA’s initiatives to provide unique job opportunities for citizens in Hatta through pioneering tourism facilities. Our new projects will contribute to strengthening Hatta's position as one of the most prominent tourist attractions in Dubai.”
